Jake Akers has Joined XSi as Senior Support Engineer, Data Center Services

January 6, 2021 (Alpharetta, GA): XSi (XS International) is honored to announce that Jake Akers has joined the company as Senior Support Engineer, Data Center Services. This newest addition to the XSi service delivery team brings with him an impressive technical leadership and troubleshooting depth in “break/fix” hardware maintenance for enterprise IT servers and data storage hardware assets.

Jake Akers joined XSi having built a reputation as a technical leader for enterprise IT hardware, across a career spanning nearly 20 years. Although his expertise crosses multiple OEM servers and storage, his client-earned respect has centered on HP-UX, HP ProLiant and Dell X86. Additionally, he has unique expertise in HP and Dell tape back-up, as well as HP San Switches. Prior to joining XSi, Jake held senior technical support positions at Curvature, SMS Systems Maintenance Services (merged with Curvature) and Abacus Solutions. Jake resides in Denver, North Carolina, with his wife and three kids. His varied hobbies include blacksmithing/metal-working, woodworking (whittling and carving), hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, drums/percussion, singing (baritone/tenor), vegetable-gardening, making unforgettable hot sauce and watching soccer.

“I had the pleasure of working with Jake at SMS-Curvature before joining XSi and he impressed me most with his natural leadership, integrity and unrelenting willingness to serve the best interests of each client,” stated Matt Santo, XSi Vice President, Data Center Services. “He holds himself to a higher standard than most hardware technical experts, but does so while maintaining a level of approachability and helpfulness that sets him apart,” added Santo.

Todd Bone, XSi Founder & President, added, “Jake’s addition to our team emphasizes XSi’s commitment to growing our server and data storage maintenance footprint in the United States, as well as our confidence in the future of providing lower-cost, independent IT hardware maintenance to clients. Rather than status quo hardware maintenance practices, I’m looking forward to how Jake’s creativity will help us re-think maintenance service models to further differentiate XSi from its competition.”
